They say “Life imitates art.” However, in case of ‘Tum Mile’ it has just been the other way round. The flood scenes in ‘Tum Mile’ have been inspired from real life events which happened to the cast and crew and their acquaintances.

Like the incidence which happened with the director of ‘Tum Mile’, Kunal Deshmukh, his close friend director Mohit Suri and Emraan Hashmi, is now captured in one of the key posters of the film. Kunal reminisces, “Emraan, Mohit and I were shooting for a music video for ‘Kalyug’. The shoot was indoors and we didn’t realize that outside the whole city was flooded. When we came out, we realized the whole city had come to a stand still. None of us had ever seen anything like this before. And Emraan practically climbed up on a car to look around!!”

Says Emraan, “When Kunal showed me this still, it just brought back a lot of memories and feelings about that day. What I saw when I climbed up on the car is still etched in my mind. Mumbai – which never sleeps – had practically stopped!!”

The film, a love story with the backdrop of 26th July’05 floods which brought Mumbai to a standstill, has come out with an image of Emraan standing on top of a car and clearly looking for someone on a crowded street jammed with people and vehicles. Its pouring and one can clearly see the storm ravaging the city in the background. ‘Tum Mile’ stars Emraan Hashmi and Soha Ali Khan and is directed by Kunal Deshmukh. Produced by Sony Music and Vishesh Films, this is the first mega-budget natural disaster flick in Bollywood which is going to hit the screens on Nov 13, 2009.
